Beginning on Giving Tuesday Now, Tuesday, May 5th, Revive South Jersey through its Unidos para la Familia collaboration, helped bring the community together to provide for and share with families.
Individuals, businesses, service clubs, foundations and non-profits donated financial resources to provide $150 worth in produce and non-perishables and other food items for 30 families. Volunteers from organizations, and Living Faith Alliance Church in particular, helped deliver that food to the families. From that Tuesday through the last Tuesday in August, food deliveries were made every other week to over 80 different families in need. In addition to those food deliveries, during the summer months over 500 boxes of fresh fruit and 300 boxes of dairy product were distributed weekly around Cumberland County through a donation secured by RSJ and the logistical help of Gateway CAP. In addition to providing food, the Pappas Foundation, Pascale Sykes Foundation, NJ Pandemic Relief Fund and various individuals provided resources to help families have the technology they need to continue their education, whether adult or child. We truly have a great community that comes together when it is needed most.
